The Brisbane Celtic Fiddle Club

The Brisbane Celtic Fiddle Club blends crowd-stirring arrangements of wonderful Scottish, English, Australian and Irish tunes with an exciting ensemble of fiddles, flutes, pipes, guitars, bodhran and the occasional concertina. In 11 years this community music group, started by Emma Nixon to promote Scottish fiddling, has evolved a strong new direction for Australian traditional music.

The group’s leader is Emma Nixon, winner of three Australasian Golden Fiddle Awards in both teaching and playing categories.

BCFC has performed at Woodford Folk Festival, The National Folk Festival, the Endeavour Foundation’s Grand Highland Charity Ball, Tartan Day and the Redcliffe Show as well as numerous other community events.

New members are welcome. BCFC meets twice monthly at Simply for Strings in Brisbane. All acoustic instruments welcome.
